MSgt Mark Roger Ludwig, 78 of Hubert, passed away on Wednesday at Onslow Memorial Hospital.
Mark proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 22 and a half years, and went back to school earning two associates degrees after his military career. He retired from the civil service aboard Camp Lejeune after 20 years.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 15th at 1PM at Jones Funeral Home of Jacksonville with Reverend Daniel Flynn Sr. officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Mark is survived by his loving wife and best friend Jean “Mama” Ludwig of the home, daughters Debbie Ludwig of Hubert and Teresa Smith and husband Khary of Swansboro, brother Sherman Ludwig and wife Nancy of Goldsboro, sister Nadeen “T.D.” Enlund and husband Leif of Jacksonville, FL, special brother Thomas O’Neal of Summerville SC, grandchildren Kristy Eisenacher and husband Brett of Hubert, Brittany Holsclaw and husband Brandon of Hubert, Mallory Leake of Swansboro, and Zackery Smith of Beaufort, and great grandchildren Emma Eisenacher and one on the way, Scarlett Holsclaw, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Max and Nettie Dean Ludwig, son John Raymond Ludwig, and great grandson Ayden Eisenacher.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 12 – 1 PM at Jones Funeral Home of Jacksonville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the DAV, VFW, or any organization that supports our veterans.
