Millard Kenneth Cook, MGySgt USMC (Retired)



Millard Kenneth Cook, 83, of Jacksonville, NC, passed away June 30, 2018. He was born in 1934 in Fredrick, MD to Dorsey and Carrie Cook. Millard graduated from Fredrick High School in 1952 and joined the United States Marine Corps. He served in Cuba, three tours in Vietnam, and retired as a Master Gunnery Sergeant after 21 years of service to the Corps. Millard continued to work on base as a civil servant and retired after 18 years. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Ann V. Cook; son Kenneth P. Cook; and his parents. Millard is survived by his two sons Bryan P. Cook (Laura) and Chris Cook (Kim) both of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm, at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 11 am, also at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Burial with full Military Honors to follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
