William James Hebert

SALTER PATH - William James Hebert, 88, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 at his home on the beach after a brief illness.
Our loving father was born on September 6, 1929 in Lynn, MASS, the only child of the late, Joseph and Lillian Dwinell Hebert.
He lived a marvelous life enjoying his passions and pastimes of golf, crossword puzzles (with a pen), mathematics and daily walks on the beach.
He served his country in the US Army and returned home to graduate from Central Connecticut University. He was an educator and administrator at Lewis Mills High School in Burlington CT where he was chairman of the math department and vice principal until he and mom retired to the North Carolina coast, a mutual love, 25 years ago. His life was defined by his love and commitment for mom and our family, and his role in helping educate and direct the lives of countless students in Connecticut.
He is survived by four daughters, Diane McKissick and her partner Bill Ennett of Swansboro, Donna Chere and her husband, Mitchel of Watertown, CT, Debra Perleoni and her husband Bill of Farmington, CT, and Doreen Nadel and her husband, Harris of Farmington, CT; thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Our father also leaves a close companion, Shirley Holt of Salter Path whose care, love, and compassion for our father was complete and selfless.
He was preceded in death by his wife and our loving mother, Claire Peloquin Hebert whom he adored and cherished for his lifetime. He was also preceded in death by his son in law, Doug McKissick and his infant granddaughter, Christine.
Dad will be cremated and his ashes will be united with those of his beloved wife Claire and his son in law Doug. They will be scattered off the coast of North Carolina later by his family in the spring.
The family would like to express our love and gratitude for the excellent care our father received from Continuum Home Care and Hospice especially to his nurses, Theresa, Diane, and Margaret.
