Pollocksville- Cecil Gray Avery, 70, passed away at Brook Stone Living Center on Monday November 13, 2017. He was born June 24, 1947 in Onslow County son of the late, Clayton and Sadie Tripp Avery.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday November 15, 2017 at Jones Funeral Home of Swansboro with Pastor Rudolph Outlaw officiating.
Cecil loved fishing and spending time with his cats he also enjoyed his time in the garden.
He is survived by son, Kevin Avery of Cape Carteret; grandsons, Kylie and Cory Avery of Cape Carteret; sisters, Patricia Avery Rutan of Swansboro and Barbara Ann Martin of Tampa, FL; brother, Clayton E. Avery of Jacksonville; and a special great-nephew, Aiden “Hard Rock” Bennett.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse Ray Avery; and a sister, Mandy Avery Wells.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Brook Stone Living Center, PO Box 429, Pollocksville, NC 28573.

I am so sorry to learn of Cecil's passing. We were in school together at Swansboro many years ago. I also remember his late brother Jesse who was close friends with my late cousin Phillip Rhodes. My prayers go out to the family.
