Helen Pollard Turner



Jacksonville, NC -- Helen Pollard Turner, 86, born September 16, 1931 passed away November 10, 2017, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
She was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Granny and Great-Granny that truly loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmon and Eva Pollard of Verona and her sister, Betty Jane Williamson of Durham, NC.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Leo Turner of the home; her brother, Troy Pollard and wife Patricia of Mint Hill, NC and her children, Phil Turner and wife, Debbie of Verona, Doug Turner and wife, Gail of Holly Ridge, Gary Turner and wife, Sherry of Durham, Juanita Freeman of Rocky Point and Sharon Gurganus of the home.
She was blessed with nine grandchildren, Bryan, Brad and Brandon Turner, Amy Urton, Kimberly Penny, Michael Turner, David Hancock, Beth Grover and Megan Smith. Surviving her also are her twenty-two great-grandchildren, Addison, Bayleigh, Bryce, Brinkley, Conrad, and Crosby Turner, Ian and Emma Urton, Lydia and Joshua Penny, Carson Turner, DJ, Aubree and Shelbie Hancock, Alex, Tristan, Levi and Logan Grover, Jeremy, Bella, Camden and Paisley Smith and seven adopted grandchildren, Jonette, Jacob, Ethan and Eliza Greenwell, Anna, John Paul and John Paul Jones Jr and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the hospice home care staff that cared for Mom at home as well as the staff at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center in Wilmington.
Her service will be held at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 2:00pm with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park Cemetery.
