Anthony “Tony” Rocco Liberto, 94 of Emerald Isle, passed away on Wednesday morning at his home.
A funeral mass will be held 11AM on Monday morning at St. Mildred Catholic Church with Father Don Baribeau officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Connecticut.
He is originally from Fairfield, CT and moved to Emerald Isle a few years ago to live with his daughter, son in law and grandson where he enjoyed being a resident, being by the water, and the beauty of the area. He proudly served the United States Navy as a Gunnery Mate aboard a WWII PT Boat in the South Pacific. He was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 478 for over 70 years, and was a lifelong member and treasurer of the American Legion Post in Bridgeport, CT.
Tony is survived by his Daughters Elaine Liberto of Milford, CT., Michele Sullivan and husband John of Emerald Isle, son Nicholas P. Liberto and wife Nancy of Bridgeport, CT, and his grandson John Anthony “Jay” Sullivan of Emerald Isle.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers, doctors, nurses, The Emerald Isle Fire Department, and Dr. Douglass DeSantis who cared for Tony over the past two years and helped give him a wonderful quality of life.

I am sorry to hear about your loss hopefully, you can find comfort in the scripture at John 5:28,29.
