JACKSONVILLE - William “Ray” Futrell, 80 of Jacksonville, passed away at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Thursday, July 6, 2017.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday morning at 11:00 AM at the Harris Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Drew Parker officiating. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. Burial will be private per family request.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents George and Peachie Wood Futrell, brother Garland Futrell, and granddaughter Kylie Trammell.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Vidalia Parker Futrell; son, William Ray Futrell, Jr. of Jacksonville; daughters, Loretta Futrell Trammell and her husband, Phil of Apex, NC, Lisa Futrell Racicot and her husband, Paul of Katy, TX, and Angie Futrell Hinton and her husband, Jeffrey of Westview, KY; sister, Louise Futral of Cameron, NC; and seven grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family but flowers are welcome and appreciated.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your loved one. May the comforting promises from God ease your pain during this difficult time. One of which is found at Isaiah 25:8. There it says "He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces.”
